In conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition MYCE 2026, Universiti Teknologi Brunei UTB, hosted the ASEAN Sustainable Ready Industries 5.0: AI, Research and Innovation Summit. The event which took place at UTB brought together policymakers, researchers, and industry practitioners from across ASEAN and beyond to explore the role of artificial intelligence, research, and innovation in advancing sustainable and future-ready industries.

In attendance was Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. Also present, Datin Paduka Professor Doctor Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB; and His Excellency Chen Chuan, Minister Counselor, Representative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to this country. Also held was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), between UTB and Protasco Bhd, and UTB and Beibu Gulf University. These agreements further strengthen UTB's international collaboration and expand its research and innovation networks.
